AI Assistant for Cybersecurity Project (Rosey)
UX/UI — AI Workflow Design
Contributed to the design and evolution of Rosie, Cisco’s AI assistant for Panoptica, an enterprise cybersecurity platform.
I initially joined the project to make targeted UX improvements, but through ongoing user testing and research, the scope evolved into a broader effort to improve how users interact with Rosie across the product.

Problem
The AI assistant needed to help users understand complex cybersecurity information while maintaining a clear and predictable experience. This created challenges in:
- defining a focused Lens Mode experience
- communicating context and system changes
- integrating the assistant naturally into the broader workflow
My Role
- Designed and refined Rosie’s UX/UI across the broader assistant experience
- Considered system states, transitions, background changes, and user feedback throughout the experience
- Collaborated with product and engineering to evolve the feature based on user needs

Key Contributions
1. User Testing & Iterative Design
- Participated in ongoing user testing of the Rosie experience
- Translated qualitative feedback into actionable UX/UI improvements
2. Lens Mode Experience
- Redesigned the Lens Mode flow to create a more focused interaction
- Explored an isolated interaction state that made it clearer when users were asking Rosie about a specific part of the interface
- Considered how the selected context should remain understandable throughout the interaction

3. Designing for System States
- Defined behaviors for opening and closing
- Designed ways to communicate when Rosie’s context or information had been updated
- Helped create a more predictable experience around an inherently dynamic system
4. End-to-End AI Interaction
Rather than treating Rosie as an isolated chatbot, I approached the experience as part of the larger Panoptica workflow. The work considered how users move between:
- the product
- the information they are viewing
- the context they select
- the AI interaction
- the resulting understanding or action
This helped shape Rosie as an integrated product experience.

Impact
- Improved the usability and clarity of Rosie through iterative user testing
- Helped evolve Lens Mode into a more focused and understandable interaction
- Addressed edge cases and system states that could otherwise create confusion
- Translated direct user feedback into tangible product improvements
- Contributed to a more cohesive AI experience within the broader Panoptica platform
